The Complete Project Lifecycle
Initial Requirement
This will be provided by you, the client, and consists of a description of your task. It is expected that this definition of your requirement will be in the form of a written specification, however, this is not essential. Depending upon the nature of the project this will vary in detail from a concept or collection of ideas, up to a fully detailed description of your requirements, suitable for Applied Software Engineering to make a Software Contract bid.

We expect that some clients will not be able to provide a detailed specification of their requirements. Applied Software Engineering can provide a consultancy service to help you with this. We will provide a consultant

  • to sit in on all relevant development meeting,
  • liase with marketing representatives in order to determine the client's full expectations,
  • to give experienced software input to the client's own discussions/ meetings.

It is likely that a number of questions may need to resolved between the client and ourselves in order to ascertain some of the more ambiguous parts of the requirement. All communications between both parties will be confirmed in writing, thus reducing the possibility of miss-interpretation. This simply reaffirms our belief that the key to our mutual satisfaction lies in good communication.

Project Specification

On completion of the Project analysis Applied Software Engineering Limited should be in a position to produce a specification document, which will detail the client's requirements. This document should describe the requirements to a level upon which a software contract may be put in place for the implementation of those requirements.

Software Bid
Assuming, Applied Software Engineering Limited is to consider implementing the software solution defined by the specification document, the company will break the specification down into several identifiable components.

Once a complete list of tasks has been derived we will determine how much time will be needed for each task and from this we will produce a project tender document. This document will identify each of project stages, along with anticipated completion schedules. During the lifetime of the project this document can be used by both parties to determine how well the project is progressing.
