For an 'Implementation' category contract we determine how much the contact will cost you, and when it will be completed. We charge a retainer for the expected duration of the contract. This retainer is calculated at 75% of the monthly proportion of the contract. This is best described by example: Suppose we decide that the implementation of your specification will cost £30,000, and that it will take us 6 months to complete. In this case we would divide the £30,000 between the 6 months, making £5,000 per month. Our retainer cost would be 75% of this, which is £3,750 per month. We will invoice monthly for this retainer and would expect payment within 14 days. If for any reason we do not recieve this then work on the contract will be suspended until payment is received, whereupon we would normally resume work on the contract. Suitable milestones can be agreed so that you can ensure the project is progressing satisfactorily each month. On completion of the contract the remaining 25% of the contract value will be due. We will issue an invoice in the normal manner for this amount. So in our example we would issue an invoice for £7,500. In the event that the contract is not completed within the expected time frame, the client is not be expected to pay any further retainer costs - holding 25% of the contract value until the project is completed. |
