Advanced Cable Gateway with Wi-Fi receives ENERGY STAR certification in the Small Network Equipment category
Pace, a global leader for digital TV and broadband technology solutions for service providers, is pleased to announce that its D5001 ‘Ultra’ DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Gateway has earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR. The device is the first DOCSIS 3.0 modem to receive an ENERGY STAR certification in the category for Small Network Equipment (SNE), and further demonstrates Pace’s commitment to achieving its goal to be the world leader in low environmental impact products.
The Pace D5001 Ultra Gateway uses 24 bonded DOCSIS channels to deliver a new generation of high-speed data and media services, while still meeting energy efficiency levels set by the EPA. Consumers can now use high-powered, Dual Band Wi-Fi (802.11 AC/N) and integrated MoCA 2.0 coax cable networking to connect wireless set-top boxes, media servers, IP set-top boxes, computers, tablets, smart phones, and gaming consoles to a more environmentally friendly gateway.
In partnership with the EPA, Pace has been committed to energy efficiency in its products for over 15 years. During this time, Pace has launched a variety of products in markets around the world that meet and typically exceed local energy saving standards.
“As a company at the forefront of digital TV and broadband technology, being an environmentally responsible business is extremely important to Pace. We are delighted to be the first company to launch an ENERGY STAR qualified DOCSIS 3.0 gateway to add to our long list of ‘firsts’ in energy efficiency,” said Robert Turner, Approvals Manager, Pace Americas, LLC. “Environmental responsibility delivers value to our customers and our business. We fully appreciate the partnership with the EPA, and look forward to continued collaboration to support energy-efficient design and innovation across our entire portfolio of products.”
“The EPA congratulates Pace for continuing to put energy efficiency at the forefront of its product design,” said Una Song, Program Manager, ENERGY STAR Program. “Using ENERGY STAR certified products helps consumers reduce their utility bills and protect the environment.”

About ENERGY STAR
ENERGY STAR is the simple choice for energy efficiency. For more than 20 years, Americans have looked to the EPA’s ENERGY STAR program for guidance on how to save energy, save money and protect the environment. Behind each blue label is a product, building or home that is independently certified to use less energy and cause fewer of the emissions that contribute to climate change. Today, ENERGY STAR is the most widely recognized symbol for energy efficiency in the world, helping families and businesses save $300 billion on utility bills while reducing carbon pollution by 2 billion metric tons.
